St. Louis Business Journal names Lutheran Senior Services "the Best Place to Work in St. Louis"
ST. LOUIS – In today’s April 17 edition, the St. Louis Business Journal named Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) at the top of its category in the publication’s annual list of “Best Places to Work in St. Louis.”
The journal conducted surveys of more than 200 local companies during February, discussing issues relating to job satisfaction. A first-time participant, LSS was named one of three finalists in the 650-1,999 employee category, along with Centene Corporation and Graybar Electric. The winners were announced during an April 16 awards dinner, held at Windows on Washington downtown.
The largest not-for-profit organization in St. Louis, Lutheran Senior Services’ faith-based approach to senior living is embodied by its employees. “Our entire culture at LSS is rooted in Christian service,” says Dale Kreienkamp, vice president of human resources. “Here, you don’t see coworkers; you see people who work toward a shared mission, and together make a difference in the lives of those we serve.”
LSS serves more than 7,000 residents and clients each year through its 10 senior living communities, nine affordable housing sites and eight in-home services. Celebrating a 150-year legacy of caring service, the organization employs nearly 1,600 individuals in the St. Louis area, with a total of 2,300 staff members overall in Missouri and Illinois. Outside the St. Louis Metro Area, LSS serves older adults in Jefferson City and Columbia, Missouri, and Peoria and Springfield, Illinois.
“To be recognized like this is such an honor — especially during our 150th anniversary year,” says LSS President John Kotovsky. “What a wonderful tribute to all our staff members who have given of their time and talents over the years to serve our residents and clients. We as an organization have been blessed by their servant-hearted generosity; it is because of them that our communities and services continue to prosper.”
